Benefits of Teeth-in-a-Day

Apr 4 • 1 minute read

For patients with failing teeth, it’s beneficial to their oral and overall health to have them extracted and replaced with an implant-supported restoration. This not only alleviates the discomfort caused by the decay or infection, it prevents the jaw from shrinking in volume and neighboring teeth from shifting out of alignment into the empty space.

Unfortunately, many dental patients are apprehensive about replacing their teeth for fear of spending any time with unsightly gaps in their smile. Fortunately, many dentists offer teeth-in-a-day. This service allows patients to completely restore their smile in just one appointment.

Restore Your Smile Faster

Some dentists still use traditional methods to replace teeth. They use impressions and dental laboratories to manufacture the crown, bridges, or filling. This process can take weeks to complete. In the meantime, dentists provide a placeholder tooth to give the smile the appearance of fullness. But these placeholder teeth, called flippers, are easy to lose or break.

It can be cumbersome to have to schedule and attend multiple appointments. Teeth-in-a-day lets you restore your smile faster and get back to your daily life.

Same-Day Dental Implants

When the patient is deemed healthy enough, dentists can extract a tooth, place the dental implant, and secure a temporary prosthetic in just one appointment. First, the doctor will conduct a full examination to determine if any additional teeth need to be removed. Once you are ready for the implant placement, the oral surgeon will anchor the titanium implant post precisely using 3D scanning technology. After your implants are in-place, a temporary restoration is applied to protect the area while a custom-crafted prosthetic is fabricated.

Efficient Process, Quality Results

Some dental patients worry about the quality of the teeth-in-a-day procedure because the process is completed so quickly. Although results are immediate, doctors who perform teeth-in-a-day often have years of additional training and education so they can offer this service to patients.
